The Colca Canyon

The Colca Canyon is famous for its condor that flies out almost every morning at the Condor's Cross. But this Canyon should also be an obligatory stop for its traditional native peoples their clothes and hats, the cameloids (vicunas, llamas, and alpacas), the incredible landscape, thousands of terraces that are still being cultivated, medicinal hot springs and many more.

OUR OPTIONS There are several options to visit this impressive Canyon, however it's a long ride into the Canyon and roads are not the best. To fully enjoy this trip you would need at least 3 days - 2ights there. However, if your schedule is tight we also arrange 2 days trips.

PRIVATE TRIP WITH OVERNIGHT IN A SPLENDID LODGE (3 days-2nights)

• Day 1 You will be picked up by private guide and driver for your trip to the Colca Canyon. On the way there you will pass through Cahahuasi, Vizcachani, Tojta, Patapampa (4850 above sea level) and finally you will arrive in Chivay, the capital of the Colca Canyon. You will stay in lodge with an amazing view over (a part) of the Colca Canyon and relaxing hot springs. At night you can have dinner in one of the peñas and see traditional Colca dances or choice to spend more time in the hot springs! (overnight Colca Canyon)
• Day 2 You can discuss with your guide where to go. For example you can go further into the canyon to Cabanaconde. On the way there you will visit some nice and traditional villages and you may see the condors at the Condor's Cross. Round midday you will be visiting a very traditional village in a beautiful countryside and stay for the night in the same hotel. (Overnight Colca Canyon) (B)
• Day 3 You will be picked up early in the morning to go to go to the Condor's Cross and hopefully you will see the condors coming out of their nests. If you do, it is a wonderful experience. After lunch in or outside Chivay you will be traveling back to Arequipa (or optional on to Puno) (B)

POOLED TRIP (3 days-2nights)

• Day 1 You will be picked up by your guide and driver for a pooled trip to the Colca Canyon. On the way there you will pass through Cahahuasi, Vizcachani, Tojta, Patapampa (4850 above sea level) and finally you will arrive in Chivay, the capital of the Colca Canyon. You will have time to lunch. After the lunch you will be installed in your hostel and in the afternoon you can go to the hot springs of Chivay. At night you can have dinner in one of the peñas and see traditional Colca dances. (overnight Colca Canyon)
• Day 2 You will have breakfast and head to a village deep in the Colca Canyon. On the way there you will visit some nice and traditional villages and you may see the condors at the Condor's Cross. Round midday you will be visiting a very traditional village in a beautiful countryside. You will stay there for the night. (Overnight Colca Canyon) (B)
• Day 3 You will be picked up early in the morning to go to the Condor's Cross and hopefully you will see the condors coming out of their nests. If you do, it is a wonderful experience. After lunch in or outside Chivay you will be traveling back to Arequipa. (B)
