Amazon and Andes Voyage

Route: Iquitos (jungle), Cusco, Sacred Valley, Machu Picchu.
Day 1 - ARRRIVAL IN PERU
You will be awaited by Aaventuras de oro in the arrival lounge of the airport in Lima. Transfer to your hotel in th safe district of Miraflores. (overnight Miraflores)
Day 2 FLIGHT LIMA-IQUITOS
Flight Lima-Iquitos. Here, you will feel the relaxed atmosphere of a special city in the middle of the rainforest. (overnight Iquitos) (B)
Day 3-7 CRUISE ON THE AMAZON RIVER / JUNGLE LODGE
In the morning departure by cruise* over the Amazon (or to lodge) deep into the rainforest. A very varied experience: Indian villages, primates, butterflies, lagoons, caimans, sloths, the flourishing Victoria Regia, macaws, toucans and pink dolphins. (overnight on cruise or in lodge). (B,L,D)
Day 8 - IQUITOS - FLIGHT TO LIMA
In the afternoon back in the cosy city of Iquitos and flight back to Lima (if possible on to Cusco). (overnight Lima). (B,L)
Day 9 - FROM LIMA TO CUSCO
Transfer airport and fascinating flight over the Andes to Cusco. Pick up a transfer to hotel. Free day for first explorations of the city and acclimatization. Cusco also known as The Navel of the Earth for the Incas with it is fascinating Inca buildings and ruins. Cusco was and will always be the capital of the Inca culture. Is shows a fascinating contrast between ancient cultures and the Spanish conquest. Although the Spaniards built their buildings on the foundations of the Inca palaces and buildings, they could not cover up the traces of the Inca¹s. This is obvious as we have a look for example at their customs, the traditional parties, where a lot of Inca rituals are demonstrated, the official Inca language Quechua that is still be spoken. You never stop exploring Cusco. The magnificent streets, colonial houses, the artisan neighborhood San Blas, museums, churches, its people and many more. (overnight Cusco). (B)
Day 10 - SACRED VALLEY CULTURE AND NATURE
We take you on an nice journey via the enormous Inca temple of Saqsayhuaman to the fertile Sacred Valley of the Incas outside Cusco. You wander through enormous, stroll over an Indian market and enjoy the countryside. (overnight Sacred Valley) (B)
Day 11 - BY TRAIN TO AGUAS CALIENTES
Early in the morning we go on a nice train ride slowly into the rainforest to Aguas Calientes, the village down Machu Picchu. Free time in Aguas Calientes. (overnight Aguas Calientes) (B)
Day 12 - MACHU PICCHU
Early in the morning with guide to Machu Picchu. After an interesting guidance, enough time to explore Machu Picchu and to climb to the top of Wayna Picchu. In the afternoon back to the Sacred Valley and transfer to Cusco. (overnight Cusco)(B)
Day 13 - CUSCO
Free day in Cusco. To relax or to buy some last souvenirs. (overnight Cusco) (B) Day 14 BACK TO LIMA Today you fly back to Lima. You will be awaited by Aventuras de oro in the arrival lounge of the airport. Transfer to your hotel (day use) and later that day transfer to airport for your international connection. (B)
*The 6-day cruise on the Amazon starts on Sunday morning. If this does not coincide with your schedule there are also options to start this program on Wednesday. Please, don’t hesitate to ask us.

NOT INCLUSIVE:
International flight, (inter)national airport taxes (28,10 USD and 5 USD pp. per flight), personal expenses, tips, lunch en diner. OPTIONAL: Inca trail (day 10-13). The same route but upgraded to Superior Class.
OBSERVATIONS:
Hostels and hotels publicize their breakfast hours (usually 7-10am) and check out time. In some cases you leave earlier than 7am from hotel (e.g. Inca trail) and you might not be able to have breakfast.
